        adapting or revolutionizing eh?

Revolution as defined by Jack Goldstone. ""an effort to transform the political institutions and the justifications for political authority in society, accompanied by formal or informal mass mobilization and noninstitutionalized actions that undermine authorities."

Cited from wiki "Adaptation is the evolutionary process whereby a population becomes better suited to its habitat. This process takes place over many generations, and is one of the basic phenomena of biology."

Doesn't this mean that in order for there to be equality, one has to "Adapt" by transforming the political institutions and the justifications for political authority in society, accompanied by formal or informal mass mobilization and noninstitutionalized actions that undermine authorities?

        Conflict Theory*.

        Compromise and conflict between adaptations

It is a profound truth that Nature does not know best; that genetical evolution... is a story of waste, makeshift, compromise and blunder. Peter Medawar.
All adaptations have a downside: horse legs are great for running on grass, but they can't scratch their backs; mammals' hair helps temperature, but offers a niche for ectoparasites; the only flying penguins do is under water. Adaptations serving different functions may be mutually destructive. Compromise and make-shift occur widely, not perfection. Selection pressures pull in different directions, and the adaptation that results is some kind of compromise.

If we were to tell everyone in our Country just to Adapt and Compromise, isn't this the same as the example above?

      • Chew Ying Ler but be it adapt or revolutionize the country, it depends on the country's bonds. how strong the people are together and while on that, can u suffer and let suffer be, the problem still remains. all you can try to do is to adapt to the situation and use it as best to survive where instinct lies.

        Let Bygones be Bygones eh?
As you said" the problem still remains" So why shouldn't we try to Fix the problem rather than Shoving the problem away like there's nothing wrong with our country?
In my opinion, It would be better to Have done something to change the status quo if the status quo is ridiculous rather than have done nothing at all and just "adapt" by suffering.

"but be it adapt or revolutionize the country, it depends on the country's bonds. how strong the people are together"
See. As you've said, We should " try to do is to adapt to the situation and use it as best to survive where instinct lies" But what if the people Demand* a change? Should we just ignore them knowing that when a demand has come, There has to be a supply?
And When people actually demands for justice, Why isn't it served?
So Let me ask you this. Why should we just adapt to the situation rather than have a change? Even though a change may have an outcome that was worst off, There may also be a chance for it to be a Better change. Am i not correct?

      • Kenneth Hooi Wing Ken What i'm trying to say is that. People knows that there's something wrong with this country. And when people demands to know the truth, something would just shut us up. and when this happens the demand for the truth will be lowered. In a nutshell, There is definitely inequality in this country. And by changing the government, we are definitely changing the way our country's being ruled.
